Whispers on the Wind

The golden caribou, the spirit of the wind, breathes a gust across the soft blue sky. Beholding their power and beauty, even the sky is moved to frozen crystal tears. When a joyful child gazes up and gets lost in the snowfall swirling through sunlight, a tangible connection to the elements dawns as wonder, and they see the caribou’s face for the first time. 

Every fiber of the caribou’s golden coat sways with vitality. When the body’s inner winds are unimpeded, health and clarity flourish. In the caribou’s exhale, you can perceive faint residual smoke. A burning ember casts a shadow as it is released. Its fiery yearning twists until it is freed into the gentleness of snow’s caress. Sometimes the breath’s silent travail releases something held for so long it’s hard to recall its origin. The caribou guides you in this release, with help from the cleansing power of the cool wind.

Surfers know that an onshore wind makes waves choppy. Sailors are left stranded when the wind abandons them. Metallurgists learn to create wind from their mechanical bellows. The wind god Odin is commonly known as the gallows god, and is also the original breather of human life. The caribou’s inhale and exhale can nourish or tear down—give life or take it away. Even a cup of tea, the most quotidian thing in the world, emits steam tracing the shape of a powerful rune.

Winds howl over hollows in trees and whisper words into being. The breath of the caribou bends back to touch their nose, demonstrating the power of what is intoned from our mouths. No one knows the impact and significance of a sigh, shout, or clever quip unleashed on the world, or how it may circle back to the speaker. Wind can be used to fan many flames.
