This dark roast rock tea from Wuyi Mountain has a distinct style. It's mellow wood flavor and strong energy make it a favorite of the tea-growing families and locals of Fujian. Grown from 100 year old trees, this 2022 harvest Shuixian is sweet with a clean feel.
As it ages it continues to develop fruity sweetness, the charcoal smokiness settles and is becoming more and more intwined with the character of the tea.

This tree has witnessed birds chirping and singing on its branches, children climbing, and lovers meeting in the cool shade. The strong trunk has held the weight of grief. Its branches have swayed to songs of cheer. The three suns show the passing of ages. Faint memories linger in the inner rings, remnant hints of older days when one might have spoken to a tree by name.
You are old and wise. And if not, there is a tree nearby that you can go to for guidance. Each visit to an elder tree restores your arboreal temporality: patient perspective, unseen connection, and seasonal attunement. Placing a kind hand on bark initiates connection. This is a relationship you can rely on.
This grandmother tree invites you to turn your attention away from the asphalt grid of Oak St. and Elm St. and let your gaze drift to their namesakes—the ones dropping leaves and acorns on hillsides. Center a new map around these pillars of community, and include the flow of water and animal traffic that inscribe their marks on this place you’ve come to see as a human domain. In the same place and time, a different world comes alive. A parallel realm is always extending an invitation to return. The new world is the old world, and the trees have been here the whole time, breathing life into all of us.
