Almond Aroma

Dancong, or wulongs of Phoenix Mountain, are known for many things: the ornate fragrances that give many of these teas their names,  shan yun (mountain charm) minerality, sharp refreshing bitter notes—which are usually referred to as floral notes.

These are some of the most impeccably nuanced teas available, and are excellent in gong fu cha. They demand attentiveness, and reward it.

Almond Aroma is an intricate aromatic dancong with a mixture of delicate floral notes and strong woody, nutty body.

Almond Aroma is prized for balance and steadiness over fireworks. It's loyal attendants appreciate not only its almond fragrance, but also its woody endurance. It reminds me of a mature oak, a solid trunk that grows steadily up. The energy feels like that too, strong and stable, showing the quality of the mature sixty-plus year old tea plants.

This year's tea exceeds expectations. The ornate florals are exquisite as the dance and then hide in the woody tea body.
