These brew bowls are a signature brewing vessel of Mark Mohler. They are influenced by many similar vessels, and have a style similar to that of some Taiwanese masters, and yet are quite unique in their expression at the same time.
It is a simple and inviting way to make tea with little fuss. For some teas they are ideal, for the quicker dispersion of heat from having no lid. For others a teapot is better for flavor, and the brew bowl gains its edge form its ease and casual atmosphere. You can see the leaves unfold, enjoy the steam, and easily brew with friends at the table, in your art, or work practice, or traveling—as I did, making friends easily to enjoy tea with on a train. They also double as fair pitchers.
Made of Lizella Clay.
